Yes, you can plan batches as far into the future as you'd like. You can allocate inventory to the production job at a later date. While you can plan without allocating, you cannot complete the batch without allocating.

First In First Out (FIFO) is selected based on the order in which materials are received. If more than one of the same material is received on a given day, the order in which they are chosen is based on the received timestamp (MM/DD/YYYY : HH:MM:SS)

Allocated is the reserved portion of inventory, designated for specific batches. Mixed refers to products or materials that have been combined or blended.
